Nature Walk

A guided nature walk is being organised in Delhi to help residents reconnect with the city’s remaining green pockets and observe the wildlife that still thrives within them.

Participants will follow shaded trails lined with mature trees and seasonal plants, guided by experienced naturalists who will point out native species of birds, butterflies, and insects. The walk is designed to highlight the quiet ecological value of urban greenery—how trees filter air pollution, provide cooling shade, and create habitats for creatures that share the city with us.

Along the route, walkers will learn to identify common birds such as the Indian robin, purple sunbird, and rose-ringed parakeet, as well as the plants that support them. Guides will share simple tips on recognising animal tracks, listening for bird calls, and understanding the role of even small green spaces in sustaining biodiversity. The focus will remain gentle and observational, encouraging people of all ages to slow down, notice details, and appreciate the living systems that exist alongside busy urban life.

No special equipment is required beyond comfortable walking shoes and a water bottle. The nature walk promises a refreshing outdoor experience that combines gentle exercise, quiet observation, and meaningful insight into the green life that still flourishes in the heart of Delhi.
