What is Activism?
An activist is one who takes action to create change. They are the ones who try to sort out issues like Environment, poverty, or electricity. They put their full effort to inspire and motivate people to stand up for what is right.
What is Inactivism ?
The Inactivist is likely to be satisfied with things the way they are. They are not fond of stepping out of their comfort zone and can make up any excuse to not participate in any uprising.
If you are not an activist, then you are an inactivist
As mentioned above, an Activist is someone who takes the initiative to create a change in the society. Sometimes they may even join any group whose goal is to bring positive changes, for example environmental issues such as saving trees or animals.
On the other hand if you are an inactivist or a couch activist, then you fall in the category of people who just like to sit on the sofa and pass comments instead of taking some action to bring a change in the society.
This way each and every problem is getting worse, in-spite of people having such good skills and knowledge. People ignore all the bad things happening out there such as air pollution, tree felling, animal abuse etc.
Some inactivists choose not to use their education to help our society. They are consciously not helping the world to be a better place.
Some people in society who do social work, people refer to them as an Activist in a derogatory way.
People who do not have any will or desire to do good work, they try to defame good people.
How to change inactivism to activism
It’s a very simple process.
You must think of our beautiful society and the social issues that have been bothering people.
You can try to understand the importance of the planet we are living on along with the value of the human life.
For example,
1- If you see a garbage fire – You must call the fire department.
2- If you see trees getting cut – Immediately call the police.
3- If you see an animal that needs help – you can help them.
